Creating a modern flow in an older home.

Located in south Regina’s popular Albert Park neighbourhood, this 1-3/4 storey home was originally built in 1966. The homeowners wanted more living space as well as an updated layout. The full renovation called for adding a new bedroom over the garage and opening up the main floor. DKM provided engineering services to safely remove partition walls and reinforce floor joists, allowing for an open kitchen and dining area. A new lintel design was installed over an enlarged window, while a once enclosed staircase and basement access was replaced with a contemporary open staircase. The renovation turned this older home into a bright, spacious family home with plenty of room to grow.
